Danielle Breezy of News 2 was recognised for her life-saving coverage of the Middle Tennessee tornado outbreak in March 2020. The significant devastation caused by the EF-3 tornado that ripped over Middle Tennessee, including Nashville, late on March 2 into the early hours of March 3 was reported by News 2 and the Weather Authority crew. Many structures were severely damaged, and some people were killed as a result of the storm.
Breezy, along with colleague meteorologists Davis Nolan and Mary Mays, kept Tennesseans safe that night by providing continuous coverage of the carnage caused by ten tornadoes, including the EF-3 Nashville tornado and the EF-4 Putnam County tornado.
