Trupti Desai is a social activist in India who runs campaigns to allow women to temples and other religious places. Desai has successfully arranged many campaigns to urge the religious godfathers of Maharashtra for allowing women to religious places and temples such as the Shani Shingnapur Temple, the Haji Ali Dargah, the Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple and the Mahalakshmi Temple.
One of the most recent campaigns was the Sabarimala temple in Kerala.
In 2012, Trupti was elected for the Pune Municipal Corporation elections as an Indian National Congress candidate.

Personal Life
Trupti Desai was born in 1985 in Nipani taluka, an Indian state of Karnataka. Her father abandoned the family for an ashram. Trupti was raised by her mother with her two siblings.
Trupti has studied home science at the Pune campus of Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women’s University but due to family problems, she couldn’t continue her studies after the first year.
Desai’s Marriage
Trupti Desai is married to Prashant in the year 2006. Both have a son. He claims that Trupti is “extremely spiritual” and she follows Gagangiri Maharaj of Kolhapur.
Activities
In 2003, she took part in a campaign and worked as a social worker with Krantiveer Jhopdi Vikas Sangh to support rehabilitate slum dwellers.
From 2007 to 2009, Trupti participated in protests against the financial distortions at the Ajit Cooperative Bank containing a hoax of 50 crores.
In 2009, she managed a group and ran a campaign against the deputy CM of Maharashtra named Ajit Pawar.
In 2013, an arrest warrant was released against her for heading the group that has “slapped the effigy of Pawar, used abusive language and bought an unlawful turmoil despite prohibitory orders”.
After her arrest, she was promptly discharged on bail, declaring that the arrest was just a ploy to hold protesters from protesting.

In 2010, Desai founded the Bhumata Brigade, and since its founding, 5,000 registered members there as of 2016.
In 2011, she undertook the anti-corruption movement.
In 2012, she competed in the elections as a member of the Indian National Congress for the Pune Municipal Corporation from Balaji Nagar ward. However, she lost her seat.
