Let’s say you are a tech talent overseas and doing great in your field of Digital Technology. For this application you will be asked whether you are an Exceptional talent or promise in the Digital Technology field.
What does this mean for you?If you are an Exceptional talent, it means you are someone who has spent a long time in your field and has shown exceptional skills, innovation and contributed to the growth of a particular digital technology led product or service.
Whereas an exceptional promise is a candidate who is budding and relatively lesser in experience than the former but has still shown exceptional skills, innovative zeal and contributed to the growth of a particular digital technology led product or service.
Exceptional promise candidates have tremendous potential to unleash and that’s why this visa is apt for you.
Application Process and time
There are two steps in the entire process
- Endorsement stage
- Application process stage
Endorsement stage – in this stage you make an online application on the Tech Nations website.
This is the endorsing body for Global talent visa (Digital technology) applications.
Once your application is submitted, Tech nation body will review it to validate eligibility of the applicant.
If you are a technical applicant within the same category then you must provide evidence to show that you possess technical skills, ability to be endorsed.
If you are a business applicant, you must show proof of proven commercial investments in digital tech led products for businesses.
You must have 2 pieces of evidence for each.
In total you need to provide at least 10 pieces of evidence to make your application very robust.
The Tech Nations make its decisions within 15 days. The Home Office will notify you whether your application is approved or not.
Following approval, you will be given 3 months of time to complete the application for a Global talent visa. You need to visit the official website (gov.uk) to make an online application.
Processing takes 3 weeks if you applied from outside the UK and 8 weeks for applications made from within the UK.
You must pay £608 for complete application and £624 for Immigration Healthcare surcharge.
Benefits
A Global talent visa is valid for 5 years and is a direct path to settlement and then British citizenship.
You can study, work or start self-employment on this visa.
You can bring your dependents to the UK as well.
