Personal Life and Marriage
Aruna Chaudhary is the wife of Ashok Chaudhary, a retired Additional Director Local Bodies Punjab. The couple has two sons. She is the third Generation Politician. Aruna inherited politics from her father-in-law Chaudhary Jai Muni. He was the founder MLA of Dinanagar and served as an MLA for 25 years.
Political Career
- In 2002, she was nominated to the Punjab Parliamentary Assembly by Dina Nagar.
- From 2004-to 2007, she served as a Chairperson of Punjab Civil Supplies.
- In 2012, Aruna was re-elected from Dina Nagar.
- She has contested 4 elections for the INC ticket, in which she won 3 of these elections in 2002, 2012, and 2017.
- In 2017, she defeated BD Dhupal of Bharatiya Janata Party by scoring over 72000 votes and won.
